GTA 6 launch countdown: every confirmed date between now and 19 November
The confirmed GTA 6 launch calendar: Take-Two's results on 9 November, pre-load on 10 November (up to 212 GB), code-in-box copies on 12 November, launch day and Rockstar's official Leonida map on 19 November, Justice's Original Score on 11 December. Plus the 18 November review date, which is reported but not announced.
GTA 6 is just over two weeks away. Here is everything with a confirmed date between now and launch, in order, with nothing guessed. When a date changes or a new one is announced, this page and the tracker change the same day.
5 November — Rockstar’s Launch Gallery (added 5 Nov)
Rockstar published 39 new screenshots on its official site. No new dates or launch details came with them.
6 November — E11EVEN becomes NINE1NINE for a night (added 2 Nov)
The real Miami club that GTA VI parodies is playing along. E11EVEN’s own ticket page bills Friday 6 November as the “IRL grand opening of NINE1NINE Vice City’s Sexiest Nightclub”, with Flo Rida, “in celebration of GTA6”. It’s 21+ and ticketed. Nothing on the page says Rockstar is involved, so read it as the club’s own event. NINE1NINE is on our map, Confirmed in trailer footage. More Miami tie-ins.
9 November — Take-Two’s last results before launch
Take-Two reports its second-quarter fiscal 2027 results on Monday 9 November, with the call at 21:30 UTC. That’s the publisher’s last scheduled corporate update before the game ships. Earnings releases are where publishers restate launch plans, so if anything about the date, platforms or editions were going to change in public, this is the likeliest place.
Also on 9 November (added 5 Nov): Selfridges says a GTA VI experience starts there, though it hasn’t said at which stores. And in the US, Spectrum’s free speed boost for eligible customers begins, running to 30 November. You have to opt in.
10 November — pre-load opens (updated 3 Nov)
Rockstar announced on 3 November that digital pre-load starts on Tuesday 10 November, two days earlier than the 12 November in Take-Two’s June pre-order announcement:
- PlayStation 5: from midnight local time in your time zone.
- Xbox Series X|S: from 00:00 GMT, at the same moment worldwide.
- Size: up to 212 GB, depending on your console. That’s Rockstar’s own figure, and it replaces the 210 GB that was going around as a store-data reading. Clear the space before the 10th.
- Automatic pre-load: Rockstar’s pre-load FAQ says your console must have auto-downloads (PS5) or automatic updates (Xbox) switched on, and be left on or in Rest Mode / Sleep.
Pre-load lets you download early, not play early. Anything offering to let you play before the 19th is a scam (how to spot them).
12 November — code-in-box copies in shops
Physical copies, which are a download code in a box rather than a disc, are due at retailers from 12 November. Rockstar repeated that date in the same post (details).
18 November — the Heat’s “A Night in Vice City” (added 19 Oct)
On launch eve, the Miami Heat host the Milwaukee Bucks at 7:00 PM ET as “Vice City”, on a one-night-only court and in a reimagined uniform. That’s from the team’s own event page, which calls it “a historic partnership” timed to the game’s release. It’s a basketball game, not a game event, but it’s the only launch-week event with a confirmed time and place. Every real-world Vice City tie-in, checked.
19 November — launch day
- Grand Theft Auto VI releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar reaffirmed it in the 15 October Launch Trailer announcement.
- “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album”, 34 original tracks, releases the same day.
- “The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection”, Rockstar’s merchandise Collector’s Box, arrives the same day. The game is sold separately.
- Last day for the Vintage Vice City Pack (added 3 Nov). Take-Two’s pre-order announcement and the Rockstar Store both say every pre-order or purchase made before 20 November includes it, so buying on launch day still counts. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+. Neither source gives a cut-off time, and Rockstar hasn’t said whether the pack will be sold later. Details on the tracker.
- Rockstar’s own map of Leonida (added 3 Nov). A free printable cover-art poster and map goes up on the official site as a digital download. A double-sided printed version follows shortly after from the Rockstar Store, for $0.99 or free with any order. We’ll check every place on our map against it the same day.
11 December — Justice’s Original Score (added 2 Nov)
Rockstar announced on 29 October that “Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score” by Justice comes out on 11 December: 30 tracks on streaming services, CD and vinyl. It’s separate from the 19 November album. It includes the Launch Trailer song “Flower in a Hurricane” and a new single, “Pusher” feat. Gesaffelstein, out now.
Not announced yet
These are the questions everyone is asking that Rockstar has not answered, as of 5 November:
- Launch-day unlock time. Rockstar has given pre-load times (above) but no time for when the game becomes playable on the 19th. Some big YouTube channels said on 3 November that Rockstar had “confirmed the release time”. It hadn’t: its pre-load FAQ only covers when pre-load starts. That claim is Debunked on our tracker. Unlock times circulating online are reconstructed from store listings, not announced.
- Review date. Not announced. An insider says reviews go live on 18 November, and Insider Gaming says it has backed that up. Rockstar hasn’t confirmed it, so it’s Rumoured on our tracker.
- PC version. Not announced. A report citing anonymous sources says the first quarter of 2027; that’s Rumoured on our tracker until Rockstar says otherwise.
- GTA Online. No online mode has been announced. Here’s what’s known.
Why a page like this
Launch month is when bad dates spread fastest: a screenshot of a store page, a “leaked” unlock time, a confident thread. Our rule is the one the whole Leonida Map runs on: if we can’t point to the first-party source, it doesn’t go on the list.
