GTA 6 Launch Trailer: every location we can actually read — frame-checked and labelled
Every place name legible in Rockstar's 15 October GTA 6 Launch Trailer, read frame by frame from Rockstar's own master — what each one proves, what it doesn't, and the names going around that aren't in the footage.
Rockstar’s Launch Trailer landed on 15 October 2026 — the last trailer before the game arrives on 19 November. It runs 89 seconds (we measured 2,675 frames at 30fps from Rockstar’s own downloadable master; Rockstar’s page rounds to 1:29, YouTube to 1:30), it was captured on PS5, and it’s set to Justice’s new single “Flower in a Hurricane”.
It is a story trailer, not a tour. So here is the honest version: very few place names are legible in it. We read every frame that carries text. This is the complete list, graded the way we grade the map.
What the end card confirms
The final frames read “November 19, 2026 · Pre-order now”, with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S logos and an ESRB “M” (Mature 17+) badge. Rockstar’s Newswire post says the same: the game “arrives November 19 to PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S.” All of it is Confirmed on our tracker.
The places, frame by frame
Brian’s Marina (0:05) — a sign on the building it names. The trailer’s first location is a boat-storage marina in the Keys with “BRIAN’S MARINA” in tall letters on its roof and a “Rent a rack” banner below. A sign fixed to the building it names is our strongest kind of footage evidence for a name. Trailer 2 showed a marina signed “Brian’s Boat Works & Marina”, which is already on the map. Same business? Very probably, but “probably” isn’t our standard. A shared name and business type is resemblance, not proof, so the match goes through our verification gate before the map record changes.
“Welcome to The Keys” (0:04) — a welcome sign. A painted roadside sign with a heron welcomes you to The Keys, and a highway gantry behind it points down U.S. 1 South. That confirms the trailer opens in the island chain we map as the Leonida Keys. Welcome and direction signs prove a place exists somewhere down the road, not where you’re standing, so this one corroborates the region and nothing more.
Shoreline Amphitheater (1:04) — the one new name. During a night chase, an overhead highway sign reads “Shoreline Amphitheater / Marina” with an arrow to the left, and the next panel points on to Port VC. That’s a name we haven’t seen in any official material before. We have seen the place, we think: an official Vice City screenshot shows an amphitheatre and marina across the bay, which we noted at the time and deliberately didn’t name. But a direction sign tells you a venue exists, not where it is. So Shoreline Amphitheater enters our verification queue today, and goes on the map only once it passes.
That’s it. The art-deco street scenes, the beach, the elevated metro and the bank vault are all gorgeous, and none of them shows a readable name.
Names going around that we could not find
Several breakdowns attach place names to this trailer. We checked each against the frames. Where we couldn’t read a name ourselves, it is not entering our database on the strength of someone else’s reading:
- “Vice City International Airport” for the plane scene. The author of that breakdown says they’re assuming. No airport name is legible in the trailer. (The airport itself is already on our map from earlier official footage.)
- “Vice Beach” and “Grape St”. Single-source readings; not legible to us in any frame.
- Text on clothing and vehicles, like shirt slogans and aircraft liveries. Those are brands and costume details, not places. Our rule is that a livery or an advert is never evidence for a location.
As always, nothing from leaked material is used here, at any confidence level. The Launch Trailer’s images are Rockstar’s; the readings and the grades are ours.
What changes on the map
- Shoreline Amphitheater joins the verification queue as a new lead.
- Brian’s Marina goes to the gate as a probable match for the existing Brian’s record in the Keys.
- Nothing on the map changes until it passes. When either one moves, the map and its change log will say exactly what moved and why.
